I have a small solo show of my road sign paintings at this glorious venue in Conwy, Wales. There is a brilliant program of art and environment activities during the spring and summer, well worth a visit. Open weekends and bank holidays only, find more information here. 

Landscapes of Convenience – 2025

For our convenience a network of ‘non-places’ has entered the landscape: road verges, embankments, roundabouts, slip roads & junctions. Together these places form a new kind of wild habitat – a vast connected network which can be home to a surprising amount of nature.

In 2025 I shall be making a series of oil paintings of these ‘landscapes of convenience’ along my local A-road, the A21. Each week I will be painting in different locations along its route from London to Hastings. I am delighted to be supported in this by a fellowship grant from the Society of Botanical Artists and to be working with Plantlife as their first Creative Friend.

The resultant paintings will be exhibited at venues located near to the A21 in 2026, beginning with the blackShed gallery in Robertsbridge.

Guildford House Open 2024

I’m pleased to have a couple of my road signs in this winter group show in the centre of Guildford. The 17th Century wood-panelled town house makes a beautiful backdrop for this show of contemporary art in all styles and the it’s free to visit. ING Discerning Eye Exhibition 2024

Delighted to have one of my little roadside landscapes featured in this exhibition of over 600 small works at the Mall Galleries in central London. Open 16 – 24th November 2024. Find out more..

BEEP @ Elysium Gallery, Swansea

As one of over 400 longlisted artists for this biennial I made a little 7” painting in response to a given song title. The exhibition is at Elysium Gallery in Swansea from November 9th – December 21st 2024 and is touring to Aberystwyth in 2025. Find out more here.

Sussex Contemporary 2024

Sussex is a very creative place! I’m delighted to be included in this excellent & beautifully presented show on the top floor of the Marine Workshops in Newhaven. Open from 12 – 27 October, Thurs – Sunday. Find out more here.

Taylor-Jones & Son Gallery, Deal.

I’m now working with the delightful Taylor-Jones & Son Gallery in Deal, Kent. They are currently stocking my small works and prints and I’m looking forward to working on an exhibition with them in 2025. It’s a rather tardis like space – much bigger than it looks from the outside, with a huge basement filled with art.

Save the date! Coming soon – I have a two-week window takeover at the lovely Greenfinch Gallery in Ticehurst, East Sussex .

I will have my road verge paintings there in the windows from 10th – 22nd May, with a meet-the-artist event at 2.30pm on Saturday 14th May.

Spring Gallery, Cheltenham, April 2022

Delighted to have three circular road signs in this group show at Spring Gallery, Cheltenham; two of them are among the first road sign pieces I ever made.

Lovely to get them out of the studio for an ‘airing’ as they had quite an extended stay during lockdown.
